Ajla Kopcic and Angela Chiao, my two talented and wonderful illustrators (the “Goyles”), and I are having a ball drawing and playing with our Muses of Gaming. It has been great fun working on the comic strips and storyline development, plus watching the Muses turn into adorable and playful “Goyle” creatures! We are considering posting a blog about working with the Muses. Please let us know your thoughts…
In late 2011, I created the Muses of Gaming to be both the marketing mascots and a trade mark concept licensing opportunity for my Project X: Re-envisioning the Las Vegas Casino. The creative and marketing opportunities for using the Muses of Gaming are truly limitless. Las Vegas is often compared to an adult theme park or fantasy land. I want to give Vegas its very own adult theme park and challenge that conventional wisdom, with Vegas actually living up to that title. Additionally, Project X is a Casino Ecosystem and Vegas Life Style Center development with many attractions, characters, gardens, restaurants, shops, narratives and legends, without the kiddie rides. The idea of Project X was to envision a new 21st Century gaming infrastructure designed through evocatecture, narrative and phenomenological design.
Furthermore, Las Vegas has not done the best job of marketing itself to women. The Muses of Gaming were created to reach out to and be the avatars of fun for each generation of girls. I want to create something exciting and new for this dynamic and overlooked marketing segment. It has been quite interesting seeing how people react to them. It seems everyone has her own favorite!
Through Project X, we are able to show that JCA’s master plan development prowess can be made to include a complete and viable creative marketing and theme design concepts based on and working within the built environment. If we can do this in our own home town, just imagine what we can achieve in helping you create your own vision in your city or with your project development!
Best Regards, Jim
